One is inundated with advertisements in TV about Hair fall Cures, Pimples,Acne and other cosmetics for Men and Women.

That they are harmful, I have posted a detailed article.

These make up preparations are not new to India.

Cosmetology Ancient India.Book.Image.jpg Cosmetology Ancient India.

Sanskrit and Tamil literature  abound in details on this subject and practical tips are available.

A Sample.

Lip balm / lip salve

“Cracked lips, besides being painful, spoil the beauty of the face. The following remedy was recommended in such cases – “If the rind of Bel fruit (Aegle marmelos Corr.) is levigated (i.e. powdered and mixed) in a woman’s milk and the paste thus prepared is applied to the cracked lips, within 10 days the cracking will stop and the cracks will heal[5].”

Skin lightning and exfoliating scrub

A fair skin has always been an attraction for Indians. The following paste used to be applied to the body to make the skin a shade or two lighter and give it a natural glow – “Pound together The root of Kosta [Kooth or Kushtha, English name: Costus.][6] (Saussurea lappa Clarke.), Til seeds (Sessamum indicum Linn.), the leaves of Sirisa (Albizzia lebbek Benth.), the leaves of Chopda (Pongamia pinnata Pierr.), the wood ofDevdar (Cedrus deodara Roxb.) and the wood of Zadali Haled (Berberis aristata DC.) Roast this mixture between dried cakes of Buffalo dung, then take it out and grind it properly to a fine powder. If the paste made from this compound is applied to the body for three consecutive days, the above mentioned desired results will be obtained”.

Cure for dandruff

“Pound khas-khas seeds (Papaver somniferum Linn.) in milk and apply to the scalp. It will cure dandruff”.[5]

Rejuvenation process (Kayakalpa)

A very famous rejuvenation treatment called Kayakalpa used to be practiced. The meaning of the word is to make a person look young, bring about a change in the color of the hair and texture of the skin, improve the eyesight and so forth. “Take equal quantities of Kadunimba (Azadirachta indica Juss.) leaves, Maka (Eclipta alba Haask.) leaves, Mundi [Gorakhmundi]  (Sphaeranthus indicus Linn.) leaves, Nirgundi [Nagoda, Nirgundi and Nirgunda (Vitex negundo Linn.)leaves and Vova (Carum copticum Benth.) leaves.

Dry all the 5 ingredients in the shade. Then powder this mixture. Take internally two pinches of this powder twice a day. While the subject is under this treatment, the diet should mainly consist of milk and rice only. Quite soon the person will look younger, the skin will become lustrous and even the grey hair will turn black”.

Depilatory

The presence of hair on arms, face, legs and pubic area, was considered an eyesore, and certain formulae were practiced to remove them.

“Pound together dried fruits of Aavalakatti (Emblica officinalis Gaertn.) and dried fruits of Pimpali (Piper longum Linn.). Soak this mixture in the milky latex of Nivadunga (Cactus: Euphorbia nivulia Ham.) If this compound is applied to the desired place, the hair from that area will fall off”.[5]

Breast developers

“Powder together the root of Aswagandha (Withania somnifera Dunal.), the fruit of Gajapimpali(Scindapsus officinalis Schott.), the root of Kosta (Saussurea lappa Clarke.), and the rhizomes of Vekhanda[Vekhanda, English name: Sweet flag. (Acorus calamus Linn.). To this powder add butter made from buffalo’s milk and massage the bust with this medicated butter. This will increase the bustline and make it firm and shapely”.

Some more formulae from other sources, earlier than 18th and 19th cent A.D. include the following:

Face pack

“Take Masura—a lentil common in India (Lens culinaris Medic.) and pound with Madhu (Honey). The paste so prepared, rubbed for seven nights, gives the splendor of the petals of the white lotus flower to the face”.

Cure for pimples

“The application of plaster composed of Kustumburu [Dhana, Dhania, English name: Coriander](Coriandrum sativum Linn.), Vacha or Vekhanda (Acorus calamus Linn.), Lodhra [Lodhar, Lodhra. English name: The Lodh tree] (Symplocos racemosa Roxb.) and Kushtha or Kosta (Saussurea lappa Clarke.) pasted together is also recommended for curing pimples”

Mouth freshener

I quote a verse translated from Sanskrit: “Oh! beautiful damsel, make fragrant quickly, Poog-phala i.e.Supari or Betel nut (Areca catechu Linn.), for rulers of the earth (Kings) by mixing together Kushtha(Saussurea lappa Linn.), Tagara (Valeriana wallichii DC.), Jatiphala (Myrstica fragrans Houtt.), Karpoora(Cinnamomum camphora Nees and Eberm.), Lavanga (Syzygium aromaticum Merrill and Perry.) and Ela(Ellettaria cardamomum Maton)”

Cure for lice and nits

“On tying the head with a piece of cloth dipped in the juice of Phanivalli (Piper betel Linn.) or ‘Paan” leaves, to which has been added Paratda (Mercury), lice and nits would be finished off.

General hair remedy and cure for the prematurely graying

“Juice of Bhringaraja or Maka (Eclipta alba Hassk.), together with Lohakitta (Iron-rust: Non-botanical. Iron oxide, normally Red oxide.), Phalatrikam or Triphala = Collection of three fruits, viz. Harada [Hirda, English name: Chebulic myrobalan (Terminalia chebula retz.), Beheda [Behada, English name: Belleric myrobalan][6] (Terminalia bellerica retz.) and Avala [Amla, English name: Emblic myrobalan (Phyllanthus emblica Gaertn.), cooked in oil when applied (to the scalp), would cure dandruff, itching, alopecia and would also darken the hair, which have become grey prematurely.

Deodorant powder

“The powder from the barks of Sahakara [Aam, Amba, English name: Mango][17] (Mangifera indica Linn.) tree and Dadima [Dadim, Dalimba; English name: Pomegranate][17] (Punica granatum Linn.) tree, mixed with Shankha (Fragrant Shell) powder and applied to the relevant part of the body, removes bad odour. The powder made of Chincha (Tamarindus indica Linn.) and Karanja (Pongamia glabra Vent.) seeds, if applied also removes bad odour.[19,20]

Examples of above given formulae serve to give some idea of Ancient Indian researchers and their contribution to Indian Medical Lore.

The research involved in this work was to compile the cosmetic formulae from various sources and then to find the proper equivalent botanical names for the Sanskrit and Prakrit terminologies (For the ingredients used in the formulae). This was done with the help of native people and experienced vaidyas in South India and Maharashtra. Identification was done by studying the properties of the plant and if these plant names were the actual ingredients used.

Some of the formulae are still in use by some rural women in the interiors of India. Some formulae are in use even today by vaidyas practicing the Ayurveda branch of medicine.

This study forms mainly an ethnobotanical contribution to our knowledge and is hoped that it forms the basis for further chemical, clinical and allied investigations in the cosmetic and therapeutic aspects of the Indian botanicals.

Tamil Connection To Cameroon Central Africa

When  posted an article that World’s Oldest Temple built by Brahmins, in Gobekli Tepe,Turkey, there were criticisms that the site was 11000 Years old and hence my claim that it was built by Indians is wrong as the Ramayana is s on Sanatna Dharma spread dated only around 5000 BC.

Flag of Cameroon.Image.png Flag of Cameroon.

I replied through my post My Posts On Sanatana Dharma Spread Reply to Critics.

I have been trying to validate the archaeology Astronomy, Cultural and Linguistic similarities, references in the Indian Legends, Puranas, Ithihasa, Ancient  and local refernces and Sanskrit /Tamil Literature

I had posted articles on the existence of Tamils in the Paleolithic Age  and we have Gondwana ,Lemuria to contend with.

One more curious fact I have found is that while the History  of  Arabia is totally not available for the period preceding Prophet, I have a post on this, the  details of ancient African Religion and languages have been brushed aside by a statement that the ancient Africans were barbaric and there were only dialects and no civilization.

I do not subscribe to this view.

Now here is the evidence , based on Linguistics, that the present   a tribe of Cameroon, one among the 220, uses a Dialect that is a mixture of deformed as well as chaste Tamil!

They use even the current Tamil words in vogue.

Please watch the Video.

The statements in the Video are true excepting the explanation for the word Gramam as Gramam is a Sanskrit word and does not have connotation as explained the Video.

Cameroon /ˌkæməˈrn/, officially the Republic of Cameroon (French: République du Cameroun), (German: Republik Kamerun), is a country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Nigeria to the west; Chad to the northeast; the Central African Republic to the east; and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Republic of the Congo to the south. Cameroon’s coastline lies on the Bight of Bonny, part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean. The country is often referred to as “Africa in miniature” for its geological and cultural diversity. Natural features include beaches, deserts, mountains, rainforests, and savannas. The highest point is Mount Cameroon in the southwest, and the largest cities are Douala, Yaoundé, and Garoua. Cameroon is home to over 200 different linguistic groups. The country is well known for its native styles of music, particularly makossa andbikutsi, and for its successful national football team. French and English are the official languages. After independence, the newly united nation joined the Commonwealth of Nations, although the vast majority of its territories had previously been a German colony and, after World War I, a French mandate.(wiki)

Origin of Thamboola Auspicious Gift Hinduism

It is customary for Indian households to offer Gift to visitors.

Mandatory are the Kumkum(Vermillion) and Thamboola.

The Kumkum is a sign of wealth and prosperity and it represents Goddess Mahaslakshmi, called as Sri.

Thamboolam.Image.jpg Thamboolam.

The significance of offering Kumkum is the wishes of the house holder that the visitor may be blessed with Prosperity.

Thamboola has three elements.

Coconut signifies the Blessings of the Trimurthis, Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra, represented as the three marks in the Coconut.

The areca nut iss attributed to Brahma, the Tambool (betel) leaf to Vishnu and lime to Mahesh.i

Lime is offered along with these in Hindu marriages after Food.

At the practical level, this mixture, when taken after food is good for digestion.

The Legend of Thamboola.

Mohini distributed Amrut (ambrosia) amongst various gods. The urn with the remaining of the Amrut was kept near Indra’s elephant « Nagraja ». Growing inside the urn was a strange creeping plant and the gods became ecstatic. Vishnu ordered Dhanvantari to examine the plant. He thus discovered its stimulating quality. From then on, Vishnu began to offer its leaves, as a gesture of love and affection. Since, it is said , that the betel trine was born. It began to be associated with the Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh Trinity. The areca nut was attributed to Brahma, the Tambool (betel) leaf to Vishnu and lime to Mahesh.

According to another legend, after the Pandavas’ victory at Hastinapur, they began to have a fervent desire for Tambool. A messenger was urgently sent to the underground abode of the Queen of the snakes. The Queen, only too happy to oblige, cut the extreme phalange of her little finger and sent it to the Pandavas. The phalange was planted with great ceremony and soon the Betel plant grew out of the phalange. The creeper is since then referred to as « Nagveli » the snake plant. The ceremony of the leaves commemorates this origin and the Barais offer prayers to the God of snakes on the occasion.

Another version.

Once all dev gans (Devtas, Gods) assembled on Earth at a place called ‘Naumi Sharayan’ to perform some auspicious ceremony, and while they were approaching back to ‘Bakunthya Dham’ (Heaven) they all started feeling thirsty due to extreme heat on earth when a particular community came forward and quenched their thirst by serving them Beatle leaves .Impressed by their hospitality, the Devtas not only blessed them but also honoured them by gifting the title chaturashiitah i.e. ‘CHAURASIA’ . According to the Baudhâyanas’rauta-sûtra CHAURASIA’s belong to Kashyapa, Some believe that they belong to [Bharadvâja],So there are many beliefs about Gotras .

In recent days people of this community are employed in a variety of occupations (some also refers themselves as ‘Vaishya’ i.e. traders, since becoming followers of Vallabhacharya ji, adopting Vaishanavism nearly 300 years ago.) and their religious traditions and culture are becoming less of a factor in daily life.

Details of Chaurasia Brahmins follows.

Chaurasia Brahmins 84 Or 84,000 Families

$

In Hindu system of community classification of ancient times, the communities were grouped together based on the their location, number of families in a group, the chosen profession ,or the deeds done by them.

Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.Image.jpg
Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.

Also if some groups performed some specific Yagnyas, among Brahmins, they were designated as such, for example, Vajpayee, those who have preformed and specialists in performing the Vajapeya Yaga.

Among the Brahmins in the South, there are Asta Sahasram, (Eight Thousand families), Vadama(those who lived on the north bank of River Kaveri), Vaathima, who speialised in Purohitham.

In the North we have many communities of Brahmins on similar lines.

The Chaurasia Community is one which is based on the number of families belonging to this clan.

They are reported to be 84,000 in number.

HAURASIA word originated from ancient INDIAN Vedas which basically refers a Brahmin community in INDIA, CHAURASIA word inherits from a vedic word ‘chaturashiitah’ which refers eighty four in sansakrita . Since ancient INDIA, according to the Hindu mythology it is believed there are eighty four thousands Yonis(breeds, Types) of Gods existing in this universe. Every species which exist on Earth belong to a particular Yoni . At later stage and for easy pronunciation it transformed as ‘Chaurasia’ (A Hindi equivalent also refers eighty four).

* Yoni is a term for female Genital Organ in Sanskrit.

The Puranas state that, while describing the evolution of beings on the Earth, there are 84 Lakhs different Yonis and their derivatives among the Humans.(Yoni Beda)

Hence I am of the opinion  that 84,000 families of Chaurasias may be off the mark, considering the limited Brahmin families in ancient India(this is so even today)

This could be 84 or at the most 8000.

Readers may send in their views.

Chaurasia community belongs to the following Gotras

  • Kashyapa
  • Bharadwaj
  • Shandilya
  • Rishi
  • Brahmachari

Pashupathynath, Shiva Worshiped In Denmark

$

I have written articles on the presence of Sanatana Dhama, Hinduism throughout the world.

Tara Hill ,Ireland.Image.jpg
Tara Hill ,Ireland.

As a part of that exercise, I posted that the Celts’s ancestors were Brahmins and that there are connections between Goddess Kali of Hinduism and the Celtic Gods.

Depiction of Cernunnos on the Gundestrup Cauldron, Denmark c200BC -300AD.Image.jpg
Depiction of Cernunnos on the Gundestrup Cauldron, Denmark c200BC -300AD
Pashupati Seal from Mohenjodaro, Pakistan. c2500BC-2400BC.Image.jpg

““The Druids of the ancient Celtic world have a startling kinship with the brahmins of the Hindu religion and were, indeed, a parallel development from their common Indo-European cultural root which began to branch out probably five thousand years ago. It has been only in recent decades that Celtic scholars have begun to reveal the full extent of the parallels and cognates between ancient Celtic society and Vedic culture.

For more on this Click here.

Irish Tribes were the children of Danu, Indian Goddess after whom the River Danube was named.

Read here.

And the Celts and the French worshiped Kali.

““The area around the village of Vix in northern Burgundy, France is the site of an important prehistoric complex from the CelticLate Hallstatt and Early La Tène periods, comprising an important fortified settlement and several burial mounds. The most famous of the latter, the Vix Grave, also known as the grave of the Lady of Vix, dates to circa 500 BC. Her grave had never been looted and contained remarkably rich grave offerings (collectively sometimes known as the Trésor de Vix), including a great deal of jewellery and the Vix krater, the largest known metal vessel from antiquity, being 1.63 m (5’4″) in height.

https://ramanan50.wordpress.com/2015/02/14/celts-ancestors-of-french-english-worshiped-kali/

Now there surfaces evidence that Shiva, in the Form of Pasupathynath, Nepal was worshiped in Denmark and Scandinavian Countries.

“For a long time the Gundestrop Cauldron has been hailed as one of the most beautiful examples of Celtic art, made in Thrace but found in Denmark. It is now considered possible that the image of the horned god is that of Pasupati, a Shiva prototype, found in the early Indus Valley civilization. Certainly a seal from the ancient city of Mohenjodaro in the Indus Valley looks remarkably like the scene depicted on the cauldron. Compare the cauldron image below with that of the Pasupati figure from Mohenjodaro, 2300-1750 BC. Always Felt Loved and Connected With Cernunnos! heart emoticon
“Shree Pashupatinath (Nepali /Hindi: श्री पशुपतिनाथ) is an incarnation of the Hindu Lord Shiva as “Lord of animals”. He is revered throughout the Hindu world, but especially in Nepal, where he is unofficially regarded as a national deity.”

. The Druids called their mother goddess Tara; Edain Echraidhe is her Irish name.
2. Her home is the high valley between the Hill of Tara and Skryne in the Royal City of Celtic Ireland.
3. A motorway is being planned to go through the middle of this valley, generating some local opposition.
4. The hill of tara (known as teamhair na Ri or the “hill of kings” in Irish) was once the ancient seat of power in Ireland, reputed to have been the seat of the Árd Rí Éireann or High King of Ireland.
5. In ancient Irish religion and mythology, Tara was the sacred place of dwelling for the gods, and was the entrance to the otherworld
6. The Hill of Tara was the capital of the Tuatha Dé Danann, pre-Celtic dwellers of Ireland.
7. It was the seat of the kings of Ireland until the 6th century, and to a lesser extent this role extended until the 12th century. A grave was found near the hill that is supposedly that of King Lóegaire, who was said to be the last pagan king of Ireland.
8. Atop the hill stands a stone pillar that was the Irish Lia Fáil (Stone of Destiny) on which the High Kings of Ireland were crowned, the stone was required to roar three times if the chosen one was a true king.
9. At one time, it was a capital offense to make a fire within sight of Tara.
10. Saint Patrick is said to have come to Tara to confront the ancient religion of the pagans at its most powerful site.
11. One interpretation of the name Tara says that it means a “place of great prospect”, it’s claimed that on a clear day half the counties of Ireland can be seen from atop Tara.
12. Early in the 20th century a group of Israelites came to Tara with the conviction that the Arc of the Covenant was buried there.
13. A new theory suggests Tara was the ancient capital of the lost kingdom of Atlantis.
From the ancient Book of Enoch: “And there appear to me two men very tall, such as I have never seen on earth. And their faces shone like the Sun, and their eyes were like burning lamps; and fire came forth from their lips. ” 2En. 1:4-5..

To this day the Sleshmantaka forest remains sacred and is known as ‘Mrigasthali’, ‘the abode of deers’. The name Pashupati means ‘ Lord of Animals’ (Pashu – animal, Pati -Lord) and was later taken to mean (Lord of Souls).

In the Indus Valley many seals have been found which show images of the Horned God with many animals surrounding him. On the seals is what has became known as the Indus script. This is a written language which looks similar to runes and other ancient scripts, however academics have been struggling for many years to correctly decipher it. Although several decipherings have been made in the last 50 years none have gained complete approval by scholars and academics.

Rama Empire Reply To Critics On Map Sanatana Dharma Dates

$

0

I published an article on Rama’s Empire, showing the territories held by Rama.

The map was based on the references in the Ramayana of Valmiki, the descriptions of the Geography of Valimiki, the reference to the Kings who attended Sita’s Swayamwara,The descrition valimki provides while the Horse , during the Aswamedha Yaga Rama performed after His return to Ayodhya, the directions provided by Sugreeva to his Vanara ,Monkey army when they were searching for Sita , the details found in Raghu Vamsa of Kalidasa and ancient Tamil Literature.

There have been comments about the content in the post.

Hanuman Chanting Rama's Name.Image.jpg
Hanuman Chanting Rama’s Name

That

1.The landmass shown in the Map, hows  relatively modern locations like the Suez canal.

My answer is that the reference to the areas won by Rama were cross checked for their modern names , correlated with the descriptions found in Valmiki Ramayan;then the Map was prepared taking the current names for these ancient places.

This has been done to enable the reader to understand the map.

Another point is that the ancient landmass was different from what we see to-day .

Landmass has changed.

There were super continents like Lemuria,Atlantis.

Some evidence of their existence has become available.

Research is on.

Meanwhile evidence unearthed in Arikkamedu,Tamil Nadu/Pondicherry and the epigraphs of the Thirukoilur TamilNadu speak of Kings from Tamil Nadu having links with Sanatana Dharma.

Early Tamil Sangam woks speak of Rama and Krishna and Silappadikaram mentions that the Yadavas were present in Madurai,Tamil Nadu.

Krishna and Arjuna visited The Dravida Desa, South India.

Both of them married Princesses from the south.

While Krishna had a daughter through the Pandyan Princess , got her married to Pandya Prince, Arjuna had a son Babruvahana.

Balarama visited south and worshiped Lord Subrahmanya.

And Lord Krishna attended Tamil Sangam.

Please Check my posts on each these.

All these have been cross verified by archaeology, epigraph,Astronomy.

It would be erroneous to dismiss the mass of evidence because we yet to recover all the artifacts.

Remeber.

River Saraswati has been identified,Dwaraka excavated.

It takes time to unearth by Indian Scholars.

There is no Dhanushkodi in Souh Now.

Only traces remain.

I have visited the place when I was a child.

Can I deny Dhanushkodi now?

Hence the empire of Rama is true, possible and probable, taking into consideration all the facts mentioned above.

2.Rama lived in Treta Yuga.

No doubt about this.

Treta Yuga is thousands of years ago.

The present date of Ramayana around 5000 BC is not accurate for the following reason.

Astronomical dating is done by verifying the Planetary position by taking reference to the Horoscope of Rama, Sita and Ravana apart from the eclipses mentioned in the Ramayana.

The problem is that Astronomical events keep on occurring at regular intervals.

So a planetary position or an eclipse is not unique.

What date do we take?

Now we are taking the latest for reckoning, that’s all.

Here comes the concept of Circular Time.

According to Hinduism Time is not Linear, that is it is not flowing in one direction.

It is circular.

The Purana state  that Agastya moved towards the South twice .

Once when Lord Shiva ordered him to move over to South to stabilize the earth, when the North end came down, South rose because of overcrowding by people who came to witness Shiva’s wedding with Uma.

( These two events have happened at different periods, not atzone instance.
He moved again to South to tame the Vindhya mountain.

Now let us look the calculation of Time .

There are Four Yugas and they repeat themselves.

Brahma, the Creator begins Creation at the beginning of each Yuga which will be dissolved at the end of one Chatur Yuga

Kali Yuga                                4,32000 Years

One Manvantara is 306.72 million Years.

Life in the universe is created and destroyed once every 4.1 to 8.2 billion years, which is one full day (day and night) for Brahma. The lifetime of a Brahma is believed to be 311 trillion and 40 billion years-Hindu Cosmology.

‘Eighty million years ago, India was approximately 6400 km (3968 miles) south of the Eurasian plate. Separating the two was the Tethys Sea. The Indo-Australian tectonic plate – containing the continent of Australia, the Indian subcontinent, and surrounding ocean – was pushed northward by the convection currents generated in the inner mantle. For millions of years, India made its way across the sea toward the Eurasian plate. As India approached Asia, around 40 million years ago, the Tethys Sea began to shrink and its seabed slowly pushed upwards. The Tethys Sea disappeared completely around 20 million years ago and sediments rising from its seabed formed a mountain range. When India and Tibet collided, instead of descending with the plate, the relatively light sedimentary and metamorphic rock that makes up the subcontinent of India pushed against Tibet, forcing it upwards, and created a massive mountain fold. The Himalayas.’

Proof from the position of Agastya Star,Canopus.

Canopus is associated with the sageAgastya, one of the ancient rishis (the others are associated with the stars of the Big Dipper). Agastya, the star, is said to be the ‘cleanser of waters’ and its rising coincides with the calming of the waters of the Indian Ocean. It is considered the son of Pulasthya, son of Brahma.

Canopus is 310 Light Years away from the Earth.

‘Agastya, is the author of 25 hymns (nos 166 to 190) of the first ‘mandala’ of the Rigveda.
2. Canopus, the second brightest star in the night sky, is called Agastya in India.
3. This star is close to the ecliptic south pole, having an ecliptic latitude of –76°.
4. As the celestial poles go round the ecliptic poles due to the phenomenon of precession of the earth’s axis of rotation, this star becomes visible from different latitudes on the globe at different times. If we assume that for a star to be visible at a place its altitude at the meridian passage should be at least 5°, then calculations give the visibility curve for Agastya (Canopus) as follows.
5. Agastya was not visible from any part of India before 10,000 BC.
6. First it became visible at Kanyakumari around that epoch. Thereafter, as it was brought more and more northwards by precession, it became visible at various places in India.
7. It became visible in the east coast (in the present Chennai region) in 8500 BC, and in the present day Hyderabad in 7200 BC, in the Vindhya region in 5200 BC, at Delhi in 3100 BC.
8. At present it is visible from most parts of India for longer or shorter durations. This cycle will repeat after every 25,765 years. It is thus clear that around 5000 BC, the star Agastya was visible from the south of the Vindhyas, but not from the north of it.
9. If sage Agastya was the first to cross the Vindhyas from the north, he would have been the first northerner to see the star. Hence the star has been named after him, just as the Magellanic clouds in the southern sky are named after the navigator Magellan, who first saw them as he sailed southwards.
10. This fixes an epoch of 5000 BC for sage Agastya. This date is based on the assumption that for a star to be visible its meridian altitude has to be at least 5°.
11. If we make 8° meridian altitude as the criterion for visibility, the date of Agastya would be shifted to about 4000 BC. The dates 5000 and 4000 BC should therefore bracket the probable epoch of Agastya crossing the Vindhyan mountains.

Hindu Puranas state that the south Pole came up because of over crowding in the Himalayas because people has rushed in to witness the wedding of Lord Shiva with Parvati and to set the earth’s balance aright Shiva ordered Agastya to go to South and he did so.

Now the tectonic plate movement of the Himalayas confirm this by observing that

” The Indo-Australian tectonic plate – containing the continent of Australia, the Indian subcontinent, and surrounding ocean – was pushed northward by the convection currents generated in the inner mantle. When India and Tibet collided, instead of descending with the plate, the relatively light sedimentary and metamorphic rock that makes up the subcontinent of India pushed against Tibet, forcing it upwards, and created a massive mountain fold.”

Hence Agastya left for the South around 40 Million years ago to balance the earth.

Please read my Post  Canopus Agastya validates Sanatana Dharma.”

Above is an except from My Post

 https://ramanan50.wordpress.com/2015/03/22/shiva-uma-wedding-agastya-to-south-40-million-years-tectonics-proof/

So the Treata Yuga period is validated.

The Astronomical events which we are using to date Ramayana happened in Treta Yuga, as celestial events take place regularly, as well.

The land mass as I have shown is correct for the reasons mentioned in answering critics in point number 1 .

And that Rama lived in Treta Yuga and both the observations are correct.

Kindly read my posts on Agastya Date, Ramayana Date, Mahabharata date,Dating tools and more posts filed under Hinduism.

Why No Temple in Sarasvati , Indus Valley Civilizations

Why there are no temples discovered in Indus Valley and Sarasvati Valley?

If what has been written in the Puranas about Hindu Gods is true why is it that the Temples dedicated to Gods are not found in these ancient sites?

This is the gist of comments I have been receiving on the Temples of India and the history of Sanatana Dharma.

Angkor Vat Temple.jpg
Angkor Vat Temple.

A Sample.

‘Then why does the harappan people worship only mother goddess and peepal tree. Why didnt they construct any temples.’

I shall reply on Mother Goddess and Peepal Tree in another Post.

The Vedas do not sanction group or community worship.

It does not believe in institutionalizing Religion.

Religion , according to the Vedas is intensely personal.

It does not believe in numbers game for the Religion.

And In Hinduism there is no such thing called Super Natural.

Every thing is natural.

Any thing we call us super natural by the others is only Natural, being a part of Nature and the most the Puranas would go about in describing them is ‘wonderful, astonishing”, ‘Aascharyam’ ,that’s all.

Every thing was taken as Natural.

So every thing including the exploits of Rama and Krishna were taken as part of exhibition of valour and though people considered Rama and Krishna as super Heroes even during their times, no body was in awe of them and people, even ordinary one at that, would challenge them.

Take the instance of a washer-man commenting on Rama’s acceptance of Sita after she was brought back from Lanka!

They were treated as humans while they lived though revered.

And since people of that era were able to acquire powers by penance the ability to travel t will to various planes of existence and other powers which we call now as super natural today, they were not over awed by the exploits of these Gods.

What they have been taught is that any one can attain these powers by character, penance and above all realizing  The Self.

These extra qualities acquired are but impediments to the ultimate Goal of Realizing the Self.

The Vedas are for self-realization and as such calls for personal upliftment.

So they did not build any temples for the Gods.

But the Gods were propitiated by Yajnyas and Homas.

Hence there is no evidence of temples in Harappa, SaraswathiValley.

Some references are  found about Temples for Mother Goddess.

I am researching into this and shall share the information.

And there is no sanction about building temples in the Vedas, no word about temples at all.

The construction of Temples came later, inspired by the Agamas, which are post-Vedic.

However the oldest temple in the world , on record to-day, is found in Tamil Nadu.

‘The Subrahmanya Temple at Saluvankuppam, Tamil Nadu, is a shrine dedicated to the Hindu deity Murugan. Archaeologists believe that the shrine, unearthed in 2005, consists of two layers: a brick temple constructed during the Sangam period (the 3rd century BC to the 3rd century AD) and a granite Pallava temple dating from the 8th century AD and constructed on top of the brick shrine. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) team which conducted the excavation believe that brick temple could be the oldest of its kind to be discovered in Tamil Nadu. However, noted Indian archaeologist R. Nagaswamy is critical of this claim owing to lack of references to the shrine in the popular literature of the period.’

For more Read here.

The temple of Angkor vat and Changu Narayan temple came later

‘The Agamas are non-vedic in origin [4] and have been dated either as post-vedic texts  or as pre-vedic compositions. In theMalay language the word Agama literally means ‘religion’. Agama traditions have been the sources of Yoga and Self Realization concepts in the Indian subcontinent, including Kundalini Yoga  and encompass traditions of asceticism. Tantrism includes within its fold Buddhist and Jaina tantras suggesting that Hindu, Jaina and Buddhist tantrism developed separately after arising from common sources of Tantric elements. The Agamic tradition, in general, has been dated to the pre-Mauryan period as references to the tradition are found in later vedic literature of Atharvaveda.’

‘The pagoda style temple has several masterpieces of 5th and 12th century Nepalese art. According to legends Changu Narayan temple existed as early as 325 A.D. in the time of Licchavi King Hari Datta Verma and it is one of Nepal’s richest structures historically as well as artistically. In the grounds there is a stone pillar inscription of great importance recording the military exploits of King Man Deva who reigned from 496 A.D. to 524 A.D. The first epigraphic evidence of Nepalese history found in the temple premises during the reign of the Licchavi King Mandeva dating back to 464 A.D. shows that Changu had already been established as a sacred site in the 3rd century A.D. It is the earliest inscription known in Nepal. The temple was restored during the lifetime of Ganga Rani, consort of Siva Simha Malla who reigned from 1585 to 1614.’

According to one legend, the construction of Angkor Wat was ordered by Indra to act as a palace for his son Precha Ket Mealea. According to the 13th century Chinese travelerDaguan Zhou, it was believed by some that the temple was constructed in a single night by a divine architect.

The initial design and construction of the temple took place in the first half of the 12th century, during the reign of Suryavarman II (ruled 1113 – c. 1150). Dedicated to Vishnu, it was built as the king’s state temple and capital city. As neither the foundation stela nor any contemporary inscriptions referring to the temple have been found, its original name is unknown, but it may have been known as “Varah Vishnu-lok” after the presiding deity. Work seems to have ended shortly after the king’s death, leaving some of the bas-relief decoration unfinished.[6] In 1177, approximately 27 years after the death of Suryavarman II, Angkor was sacked by the Chams, the traditional enemies of the Khmer. Thereafter the empire was restored by a new king, Jayavarman VII, who established a new capital and state temple (Angkor Thom and the Bayon respectively) a few kilometers to the north.

Guruvayurappan Temple Built By Pandya King 5000 Years?

Guruvayur is a famous temple of Lord Krishna in Kerala and is called as the Dwaraka of the South.

The temple is referred to as having been a place of worship since 5000 years.

Sri Guruvayurappan,Image.jpg
Sri Guruvayurappan, Guruvayur, Kerala,India

According to the legends, the idol worshipped here is more than 5000 years old. But there are no historical records to establish it. In the 14th century Tamil literature ‘Kokasandesam’, references about a place called Kuruvayur is made. As early as 16th century (50 years after the Narayaneeyam was composed) many references are seen about Kuruvayur. In ancient Dravidic, Kuruvai means sea, hence the village on the coast may be called Kuruvayur.

But according to Prof. K V Krishna Iyer (eminent historian), the Brahmins had begun to come and settle at Kodungalloor during the period of Chandra Gupta Maurya ( 321-297 BC). Trikkunavay in the Guruvayur documents is the same as Thrikkanamathilakam or Mathilakam mentioned in the Dutch and British records. And this place was in between Guruvayur and Kodungalloor. Guruvayur was Trikkunavay’s subordinate shrine since they were destroyed by the Dutch in 1755. That way Guruvayur must have come into existence before 52 AD. The story of Pandyan King building a shrine here may be a reference to the Azhavars , but they are all silent in their writing about Guruvayur.’..

The Temple is constructed B.C 3000(Around 5000 years oldest Temple) According to legends, the deity worshipped here is more than 5000 years old. But there are no historical records to establish it. In the 14th century, “Kokasandesam” (a Tamil literary work), references to a place called Kuruvayur are made. As early as the 16th century (fifty years after Narayaniyam was composed) many references to Kuruvayur are seen. In ancient Dravidian languages, “kuruvai” means “sea”, hence the village on the Malabar Coast may be called Kuruvayur. The earliest temple records date back to the 17th century. The earliest mention of the many important Vishnu temples of Kerala are found in the songs of Alwars,Tamil saints, whose time-line is not exactly fixed. Mamankam was a very famous local event at Tirunavaya, on the bank ofBharatappuzha. The battles between the Calicut under Zamorins and Valluvanad popularised Guruvayur Temple. Due to the prolonged battles, people across the riverbank started preferring Guruvayur. Even the Zamorin of Calicut become a devotee and thus his subjects followed him. The central shrine that see today is said to have been rebuilt in 1638 AD. “Viswabali” was performed later to propitiate all the spirits, good and bad. By the end of the 16th century Guruvayur had become the most popular pilgrimage centre in Kerala.

Considering the evidence I have been able to unearth about Hinduism and its spread throughout the world, its scientific approach and the references made to it by Sanskrit and Tamil literature two of the oldest languages, I am unable to brush aside that Gurauvayur has been a place of worship for 5000 years aside.

It is a fact that the Vedas do not advocate collective, group, community worship and no mention is found in them to the practice of building temples.

However, after the advent of the Agamas, the Temple worship has begun.

The Agamas  are dated behind Lord Krishna and Mahabharata, though there are references to the worship of Mother Goddess in the Mahabharata in small temples.

How these temples could have been built and by whom?

The ancient temple, as far as History goes in found in Saluvar Kuppam ,Pondicherry for Lord Subrahmanya, which is excavated.

Most of the early temples of India have been built by Tamil Kings.

If the Tamil Kings had to build temples they had to be conversant with the happenings in the North of India and should have been influenced by them.

They have been a part of Sanatana Dharma.

The Tamil King Perunchotru Udiyan Neduncherallathan provided food for the armies of the Kauravas and the Pandavas during the epic battle of Mahabharata.

He allotted lands to Brahmins in lieu for them performing the Yagnyas daily.

He also offered Tharpana for those soldiers who died in the war.

Other Tamil Kings followed suit.

There is also evidence that Lord Krishna attended the Tamil Sangam as an Invitee.

He also married a Pandyan Princess , had a daughter through her and allotted Yadavas to serve her as a part of her dowry.

Ravana entered into a peace treaty with a Pandya King.

Rig Veda and Puranas have references to pieces, Elephant Tusks,Gems, and Pearls being imported from Tamil Nadu /Dravida.

Tamil Kings were present during the Swayamwar of Damayanthi, Sita, Draupadi, descriptions of the may be found in the Ramayana ,Mahabharata and the Puranas.

I have some articles on this.

During the Mahabharata Days the interaction between the South and the North were more intense and frequent than what it was during the Ramayana Period.

Lord Krishna attended the Tamil Sangam,Conclave of Poets held at Kavatapuram.

He was a special Invitee.

“Krishna was known to Tamil lands even during his life time. He had been one of the esteemed guests at the 2nd Sangam assemblage that took place in Kavaatam, the then capital of the Pandyans. Kavaatam’s location can be deciphered from Shugreeva’s description of the trail to the South which he described to the vanaras in chapter 4-41-19a. That place was submerged around the time Byt Dwaraka was submerged.”

Krishna married Nappinnai, a Pandyan Princess and had a Daughter Pandyahs, that’s how Megasthanes calls her.

Krishna had his daughter married to a Pandya Prince and settled her near Madurai.

For more Read here.

The chances are that the Temple of Guruvayur having been built by a Tamil King, Krishna having been to the south and it could be a Tamil Pandya King who built the temple as Lord Krishna was the son-in-law of the Pandyas and his daughter was a Pandyan Princess.

Scholars may look into this.

Krishna Abandoned His Army Narayana Sena?

$

The questions the younger generation asks of about Hinduism are very intelligent and thought-provoking.

They do not accept anything at face value. They ask questions that are very pertinent and if we answer them, they are motivated to study Hinduism.

 Vishnu,Brahma,Rama, Shiva, Krishna.Image.jpg
Vishnu,Brahma,Rama, Shiva, Krishna.

Asking them to follow Hinduism, because it ought to be followed puts them off.

As I have been mentioning in many of posts that my  desire is to explain Hinduism, to the extent I know, in simple terms and many youngsters have been on to me over phone, email with questions.

Recently I had this question.

In The Mahabharata, Duryodhana chose the army of Lord Krishna, the Narayana Sena, instead of  the unarmed Krishna for the Mahabharata Battle.

Krishna acceded the request and was with the Pandavas during the Mahabharata Battle.

The question is,

Did not Krishna abandon His army and desert them?

Why did He do so?

Was He not responsible for the deaths of his army personnel?

For no fault of their own?

Where is Krishna’s Dharma?

When we study the Avatars of Rama and Krishna we may notice that while Lord Krishna was aware of the fact that he was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu at all times, Rama did not have any idea that he was , save the occasion when the Sakthi Ayudha od Ravana, granted to him, neared Rama’s Chest.

He remembered He was Lord Vishnu, chanted the Pranava, OM and the Sakthi Syudha, which never fails, was shattered.

Even this instance Rama for got immediately.

And Rama had this feeling of Aham.

That is He identified Himself as human Being and went through the gamut of emotions and sufferings that are unique to Humans.

He was attached To Dasaratha, Brothers, Sita,Hanuman and considered Ravana as enemy as a Human would!

But Krishna had no-no such attributes.

In fact it does not mater to him personally by way of gains whether Duryodhan won or Pandavas succeed.

Both were his cousins.

Yet he chose the Panadavas, though army wise they were weaker.

Why ?

Because it was to protect Dharma .

He never had any personal feelings or score to settle with any one though they have wronged Him.

He killed them because they had to be killed to protect Dharma.

Sisupala was Krishna’s nephew and Krishna promised his mother that He could bear with 100 insults but would bear no more.

At the Rajasuya Yaga of Yudhistra,at the time of performing the Akrora Pooja, paying the first respect in an assembly, when Krishna was chosen for the honor, Sisupala started abusing Krishna in the vilest terms.

Krishna was listening tho all of them with a smile.

Bhima asked Krishna as to why Krishna was tolerating  Sisupala instead of killing hi, Krishna replied that He has promised Sisupala’s mother that he (Krishna) would bear 100 insults.

Bhima asked what if Sisupla were to stop one short of 100 insults.

Krishna replied that it is Destiny that Sisupala would complete 100 and be killed by Him.

Such is the detachment and performance of duty as a Karma Yogi by Krishna.

When Krishna’s son was cursed by the Rishis and they came to Krishna requesting His forbearance Krishna replied that there was nothing wrong in their curse as his son deserved it!

Or when the Hunter who slew Krishna by an arrow, prostrated before Krishna and asked for His mercy, Krishna replied that He was being killed by the hunter for His  killing of Vaali hiding behind a tree and he blessed the Hunter!

Rama was elevating Himself as Divine, without Knowing He was Divinity, Krishna was Divinity posing as a Human.

The purpose of Krishna Avatar is to reduce the burden of the earth and restore Dharma.

Nothing more.

So he had no personal attachment to any one including his army.

It may also be noted that Krishna had never been a King , but only a Prince because of a Curse to Vrishnis.

Balaram was the King.

Interesting to note that Balarama was av Avatar of Adi Sesha as Lakshmana was in the Treta Yuga.

Rama vowed to serve Lakshmana in the next Avatar to Lakshmana for the devotion he exhibited to Rama nd Sita,

This He repaid in the  Krishna Avatara when he took a back seat and carried out Balarama’s orders.

All the machinations Krishna indulged in th Mahabharata were when Balarama was conveniently absented at Krishna’s request!

But Balarama never knew until Krishna’s job was done.

How To Read Study Understand Hinduism

$
0
0

I received a question as to how to read and understand Hinduism, Sanatana Dharma.

The sender of this question is Professional in IT from IIT .

Vedas.Image.jpg
Vedas.

‘Would that be alright if I begin with the Brahma Sutra Bhashya of Shankaracharya?

It is difficult to understand.

Can you suggest any method’

I thought these some of the questions many are seeking answers for.

Strictly speaking the Vedas have to be studied for Twelve years minimum to have an idea.

Unlike the other Religions, Hinduism is based on Experience and Intuition and it takes time for one to grasp.

So it is difficult to understand the Vedas in the present day unless one decides to spend a lifetime on studying the Vedas, which is not practical now.

Then we have the Ithihasas Puranas Stotras Stuthis and Legends.

Where to begin?

It looks very complex and one is bewildered at the seemingly vast knowledge base and it appears at a first glance each contradict the other.

The one is also confused by the thoughts in Hinduism that the Reality is Not One(Advaita),

Qualified Not Two (Visishtadvaita)

Dualism(Dwaita).

33 Crore Gods mentioned in the Puranas,

You have Trimurthis,

Of the some say Shiva is superior, Others Vishnu and yet others Devi and so many versions.

And Hinduism , in the form of Karma Yoga asks one to forego the results of action.

Bhakthi Yoga says that One has to simply surrender to God and nothing else is needed.

Yet we have the Karmas sanctioned in the Vedas which are to be performed by very one.

We have Raja Yoga, in the form of Yoga where one learns to control the Mind and which says Mind control alone will do, nothing else is required!

Hinduism says that there is Destiny and your Life is prepared and at the same time says that one can raise by one’s effort.

Hinduism says that one should renounce things and be in the world.

Seemingly contradictory.

But they are not.

I have posted a few articles on each of these aspects.

Now to the question of Reading Hinduism.

I recommend the following,

1.Outlines of Indian Philosophy by Professor Hiriyanna. http://amzn.to/1PnBdSz

2. The Collected works of Swami Vivekananda( all the volumes) http://amzn.to/1L6V1Uk

3. The Eighteen Puranas.

These will give one the background

What is required is patience to  form conclusions and answers for the questions that may arise one reads these.

They will be cleared as you go along.

Studying Hinduism.

Now one can read the Pancha Sukthas, Purusha Suktha, Narayana Suktha, Vishnu Suktha, Durga Suktha and Sri Suktha.

And Sri Rudram and Namakam.

Slokas Vishnu Sahasranama and Lalita Sahsranama.

As ou along these lines out shall get links to proceed further.

Hinduism is not text-based but is based on Experience and Divine Guidance.

Once you start in good earnest out shall get all the answers.

To understand Hinduism one has to live as prescribed in the Vedas and engage one self in Sadhana.

This will be facilitated by  studying the Bhasyas of the three Acharyas, Shankara, Ramanuja and Madhwa.

Not to forget the Jewel The Bhagavad Gita!

Sharada Devi in in Sardinia Italy Greek Hindu Connection

Various references to Sanatana Dharma,Hinduism, are found  in Italy and Greece.

Greeks were referred to as Yavana in the Vedic Texts, Puranas and ancient Tamil literature.

Yavanas were described to be beyond Gandhara. There was another country mentioned in the epic as Parama Yona, in the far west of Yavana. This could be the Ionia ofGreece, somehow related to Indian Ionians or Yavanas. The name Yavana could be the Sanskritized form of the name Ionia. Yavanas, Sakas, Pahlavas and Hunas were sometimes described as Mlechhas. Sometimes along with them, the Madras, Kambojas, Kekeyas, Sindhus and Gandharas were included. This name was used to indicate their cultural differences with the Vedic culture, prevailed in the Kuru-Panchala Kingdoms…

Yavana was the name of one of the sons of Maharaja Yayati who was given the part of the world known as Turkey to rule. Therefore the Turks are Yavanas due to being descendants of Maharaja Yavana. The Yavanas were therefore kshatriyas, and later on, by giving up the brahminical culture, they became mleccha-yavanas. Descriptions of the Yavanas are in the Mahabharata (Adi-parva 85.34). Another prince called Turvasu was also known as Yavana, and his country was conquered by Sahadeva, one of thePandavas. The western Yavana joined with Duryodhana in the Battle of Kurukshetra under the pressure of Karna. It is also foretold that these Yavanas also would invadeIndia in the Kaliyuga . (Srimad Bhagavatam 2.4.18

“… in the ports of southern India, where the early Tamil poems of uncertain date speak of a settlement of the Yavanas.”(1) The same author (2) does not follow the assumption that Yavanas were Roman traders, although she points out that between the first-second cent BC up to and included the third-fourth cent AD, rightly or wrongly “the term yavana denoted an Ionian Greek”.(3) On pages 83–5 she makes mention of early Indian literature where foreigners were dubbed “yavana”, and points to an Asokan inscription where a border-people is given this appellation. In central and western India, she says, Yavana “figure prominently as donors to the Buddhist Sangha”.

Considering these facts it is not surprising to find the name Sharada , called as Sarda in Sardinia, Italy.

Scholars may pursue the issue.

Sarda, Sardinia,Italy
THIS IS ‘THE MOTHER GODDESS SARDA prenuragic Ozieri culture (3500-2700 BC), Sardinia

Etruscan civilisation existed around 8 century 2 BC in Italy and is believed to have ruled the whole of Italy.

But very little information is available about them.

One of the reasons, like what Christianity has done to African Religion, is the systematic obliteration of the Etruscan civilization and its history by the Romans.

“Etruscan civilization is the modern English name given to a civilization of ancient Italy. Its homeland was in the area of central Italy, just north of Rome, which is today called Tuscany.

In ancient times there was a strong tradition that the Etruscan had emigrated from Lydia, on the eastern coast of present-day Turkey. Modern historians have largely discounted this idea, and believe that the Etruscan were an indigenous population – a belief largely confirmed by modern DNA studies. The sudden flowering of Etrsucan civilization at a date earlier than other indigenous peoples of central and northern Italy probably points to the blossoming of strong trading relations between the peoples of the area – identified by modern scholars as belonging to the Iron-age Villanovan culture – and merchants (and possibly some colonists) from the eastern Mediterranean. Mining of metals, especially copper and iron, would have led to early enrichment for the Etruscans, and to a higher material culture than other Italic peoples.

The Etruscan civilization lasted from the 8th century BC to the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. In the 6th century the Etruscans expanded their influence over a wide area of Italy. They founded city-states in northern Italy, and to the south, their influence expanded down into Latium and beyond. Early Rome was deeply influenced by Etruscan culture (the word “Rome” is Etruscan). The Etruscans also gained control of Corsica.

Between the late 6th and early 4th centuries BC, Etruscan power declined. To the south, the rising power of the Greek city-states of Sicily and southern Italy weakened Etruscan political and military influence, and cities which they had either dominated or founded, such as Rome, threw out their overlords and became independent city-states. In the north, Gallic tribes moved into northern Italy and destroyed the Etruscan cities there. However, in their homeland the Etruscan cities remained powerful, and were formidable opponents of the rising power of Rome. It was only over a long period, in the 4th and 3rd centuries BC, that they surrendered their independence to the Romans…

Legend states that at the beginning of the Etruscan Age, the city of Rome was founded by the twin sons of the war God Mars. Their names were Romulus and Remus. The boys had been abandoned by their divine father and Etruscan mother and were reared in the forest by a she-wolf. This is a slightly different version of the story of the Hindu epic Ramayana where the divine king Sri Rama abandons Sita and his twin sons, Luva and Kusha. The two boy were reared by their mother and Rishi Valmiki in his forestashram.

In the Etruscan legend, the twins are raised by a she-wolf in the forest, but that probably emerges from a confusion between the Sanskrit terms ‘rishi’ (ऋषि) which means a ‘sage’ and the Sanskrit ‘vriki’ (वृकी) which means a ‘she-wolf’ – considering that the fame of Sri Rama had traversed west from India by the time of the Etruscans. And a treasure trove of Etrsucan paintings bears out this argument….

Sanskrit names in Greece.

Now the Image of Sharada Devi  has been found here.( the image is slightly modified from the Idol we worship)

The language (or the languages) spoken in Sardinia during the Bronze Age is unknown . According to some reconstructions, the Proto-Sardinian language was akin to Basque with similarities with ancient Iberian, or even Etruscan. Other scholars believe that there were various linguistic areas (two or more), possibly pre-indoeuropeans and indoeuropeans.

Names of Sanskrit origins abound in Greece and it is therefore important to look at Edward Pococke’s view put forth in his book, ‘India in Greece’. His view was that in antiquity tribes of Indian origin moved westward and left their trail in the names of rivers and mountains and cities and towns, across Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Greece and Italy. For example Pococke traced the name of ‘Macedonia’ or Makedonia to the ‘Maghadan’ tribe of India.

According to Count M. Bjornstjena as stated in his book ‘The Theogony of the Hindoos’ published in 1844, there is at least an indirect link between the Vedic god Shiva nd Dodona via the Temple of Ammon in Egypt. He says,”… several names of the Hindoo mythology are recognized in Egypt; thus Ammon the Supreme God of the Egyptians correspons to the Aum of the Hindus; and the Brahmanical Siva is found in the temple to which Alexander the Great made his pilgrimage from Egypt which yet bears his name…”. He adds, “According to the accounts of the priests in Sais to Herodotus, two priestesses were sent from the great temple of Ammon in Thebes to select spots in which sacredotal temple be erected, the one pointed out Siva in the Libyan desert, the other to Dodona in Epirus….”.

‘Pococke had put forth the view that there was an exodus of many tribes that moved westwards and settled all along the path from India to Greece. Notice the following place names in Greece and their Sanskrit meanings.

1. Trikala: Trikala (त्रिकाल) in Sanskrit is ‘the triad of ‘past, present and future’. The city of Trikala is built on the ancient site by the name Trikka. In Sanskrit ‘trika’ (त्रिक)  also means a ‘triad’. Though the ancient city of ‘Trikka’ is said to have been named after a Greek mythology nymph, her name ‘Trikka’ has no meaning in Greek.

2. Arta:  ‘Arta (आर्त) or ‘Artha’ (आर्थ) means ‘significant’ in Sanskrit.

3. Pramanda:  ‘Pramanda’ is probably a distortion of the sanskrit ‘pramanya’ (प्रामान्य) which means ‘authority’.
4. Paraga: ‘Paraga’ (पारग) means ‘learned’.
5. Andritsena: ‘Andritsena’ is a compound Sanskrit word where ‘anidrit’ (अनिद्रित) means ‘watchful’ and ‘senA’ (सेना) means an ‘army’, though ‘sena’  (सेन) is also often used as an ending syllable in a name of a person.

6. Krandidi: ‘Kranidi’  may be a corruption of ‘krandas’ (क्रन्दस्) that is ‘battle cry’.
7. Patra:  Patra (पात्र ) means a command, though the name of ‘Patra’ in Greece and ‘Petra‘ in Jordon have been linked to the meaning ‘stone’ and could therefore be derived from Sanskrit ‘prastar’ (प्रस्तर) also meaning ‘stone’.
8. Thebes: The present day Thiva was known as ‘Thebes’ in antiquity, its name a distortion of Khiva that Pococke traces to ‘Kubera’.
9. Kalamata: Kalamata in Sanskrit simply means ‘Goddess of Time’ which is the ‘Kali-mata’ of the Vedic tradition. Though the Greek ‘Kala’ means ‘good’, similar to Sanskrit ‘kalayan’, the Greek city ‘Kalamata’ is said to get its name from Greek ‘kalamia’ meaning ‘reed’. But whether it is the true source of ‘kala’ remains uncertain.

The word ‘kala’ appears in other Greek city names such as ‘Kalabaka’ and ‘Kalamaki’. ‘Kalabaka’ is said  to have Turkish origins where it means ‘Strong Fort’. ‘Kalamaki’ is translated as ‘Little reed’ and is the also the Greek name of a Turkish town by the name ‘Kalkan’.

A simpler explanation one might think is that the word ‘kala’ may have to do with the Sanskrit ‘kala’ (काल) meaning ‘time’.

10. Then there was ‘Damastium’ located 5 miles away from the Oracle of Dodon. Pococke states that ‘dama’ and ‘damma’ are distortions of the Sanskrit ‘dharma’ (धर्मं) meaning ‘duty’. The ‘astium’ in Damastium says Pococke is a distortion of the Sanskrit ‘asti’ (अस्ति) that is ‘to be’. Damastium in Greece was a place for the ‘residing priests’.
11. Domoskos: Domokos is probably a distortion of ‘Dharma-desh’ (धर्म-देश) meaning ‘Land of Dharma’.

Ionians appear in Indic literature and documents as Yavana and Yona as well as in the documentation of the ‘Edicts of Ashoka’, dated to 250 BC. Before then, the Yavanas appear in the Vedas. In the Vedas, the Yavanas are a kingdom of Mlechhas, or barbarians, to the far west, out of the line of descent of Indic culture and in general refer to the Greeks.

Caucasians Whites From Dravidian World Races From India Study

The effort of the Caucasians ,the Whites to portray themselves as the ancient people of the world is pathetic and amusing.

The Khyber Pass.jpg
The Khyber Pass.

‘The falsity of White history begins and ends with their desire to hide their true nature; that being that they are derived from Albinos. Their efforts to make all peoples of historical significance White, would appear to be their effort to make themselves the “New Normal” i. e. “See everybody important was White, therefore White is good – the best even!” This fabricated concept of themselves, is obviously so satisfying, and so ingrained, that it has become delusional. Even today, there are many Whites who refuse to believe that the ancient Egyptians, and the other original civilizations as well, were Black people! This in spite of the countless evidences to the contrary: Egypt IS in Africa, there are countless statues and paintings which clearly show them to be Black people. Even scientific studies of ancient Egyptian Bones and Mummy tissue,..

Race distribution in Eurasian Steppes.jpg
Race distribution in Eurasian Steppes.

Whites will still doggedly point to artifacts from the periods of Greek and Roman rule and say: See, these are the “Real Egyptians”. Of course, there is absolutely no reason a reasonably intelligent human being, would ever think that the ancient Egyptians were White people, but then again, reason and intelligent thought, have nothing to do with this: This is about a “Need” to believe. This persistence in thinking, is then clearly not intellectual, put rather purely emotional.’

They are so obsessed that they have portrayed Christ as a Caucasian  in appearance, though Christ, if He existed at all, was from the middle east!

He was turned into a White.

he was a man of simple appearance, mature age, black-skinned (melagchrous), short growth, three cubits tall, hunchbacked, prognathous (lit. ‘with a long face’ [macroprosopos]), a long nose, eyebrows meeting above the nose … with scanty [curly] hair, but having a line in the middle of the head after the fashion of the Nazaraeans, with an undeveloped beard.”

This short, black-skinned, mature, hunchbacked Jesus with a unibrow, short curly hair and undeveloped beard bears no resemblance to the Jesus Christ taken for granted today by most of the Christian world: the tall, long haired, long bearded, white-skinned and blue eyed Son of God. Yet, this earliest textual record matches well the earliest iconographic evidence.

The earliest visual depiction of Jesus is a painting found in 1921 on a wall of the baptismal chamber of the house-church at Dura Europos, Syria and dated around 235 A.D. The Jesus that is “Healing the Paralytic Man” (Mark 2:1-12) is short and dark-skinned with a small curly afro – see below.’

The second Out Of Africa (OOA) migration event (The first being Humans to Australia), saw Blacks from Africa with straight hair and “Mongol features” take an “Inland route” through southern Asia and on up to China, where they settled. Included with this group, were straight haired Blacks “without” Mongol features – now called “Dravidians” who stayed close to Africa, and settled in India and other areas of southern Asia. Also included with this second (OOA) group were Albinos, who were probably motivated by a quest for relief from the heat and burning Sunshine of southern Africa – and relief from the torment heaped upon them by normal Africans. Even today, superstitious Blacks of southern Africa; maim and mutilate Albinos in the ignorant belief that their body parts process magical properties, which they use in rituals…

In Book 4 – MELPOMENE: Herodotus describes the Budini people, east of the Ister (Danube) River,

Human Migration Map Based on Herodotus description.Image.jpg
Human Migration Map Based on Herodotus description.

The Budini are a large and powerful nation: they have all deep blue eyes, and bright red hair. There is a city in their territory, called Gelonus, which is surrounded with a lofty wall, thirty furlongs each way, built entirely of wood. All the houses in the place and all the temples are of the same material. Here are temples built in honour of the Grecian gods, and adorned after the Greek fashion with images, altars, and shrines, all in wood. There is even a festival, held every third year in honour of Bacchus, at which the natives fall into the Bacchic fury. For the fact is that the Geloni were anciently Greeks, who, being driven out of the factories along the coast, fled to the Budini and took up their abode with them. They still speak a language half Greek, half Scythian.

[4.109] The Budini, however, do not speak the same language as the Geloni, nor is their mode of life the same. They are the aboriginal people of the country, and are nomads; unlike any of the neighbouring races, they eat lice. The Geloni on the contrary, are tillers of the soil, eat bread, have gardens, and both in shape and complexion are quite different from the Budini. The Greeks notwithstanding call these latter Geloni; but it is a mistake to give them the name.

The Roman historian Cornelius Tacitus (56-118 A.D.) said this about the Germanic tribes (Not the same as Germans): All have fierce blue eyes, red hair, huge frames, fit only for a sudden exertion..

In human genetics, Haplogroup R is a Y-chromosome DNA haplogroup, a subgroup of haplogroup P, defined by the M207 mutation.

This haplogroup is believed to have arisen around 26,800 years ago, somewhere in Central Asia or South Asia, where its ancestor Haplogroup P is most often found at polymorphic frequencies. Cambridge University geneticist Kivisild et al. (2003) suggests that southern and western Asia might be the source of this haplogroup:

Given the geographic spread and STR diversities of sister clades R1 and R2, the latter of which is restricted to India, Pakistan, Iran, and southern central Asia, it is possible that southern and western Asia were the source for R1 and R1a differentiation.

The R haplogroup is common throughout Europe and western Asia and the Indian sub-continent, and in those whose ancestry is from within these regions. It also occurs in North and Sub-Saharan Africa. The distribution is markedly different for the two major subclades R1a and R1b.

Haplogroup R1a is typical in populations of Eastern Europe, Indian Subcontinent and parts of Central Asia. R1a has a significant presence in Northern Europe, Central Europe, Altaians and Iran as well as in Siberia. R1a can be found in low frequencies in the Middle East, mostly in Indo-European speakers or their descendants.

Haplogroup R1b predominates in Western Europe. R1b can be found at high frequency in Bashkortostan (Russia). R1b can be found at low frequency in Central Asia, Middle East, South Asia as well as North Africa. There is also R1b in Sub Saharan Africa. In Europe, R1b coincides with areas of Celtic influence.

The Albinos finding India not much better than Africa, at some point, decided to head further north. They found a pass through the Hindu Kush mountain range, now called the “The Khyber Pass” they passed through it, and entered the grasslands (Steppes) of Central Asia, where they settled. It seems logical to assume that over the many thousands of years that it took for these migrants to reach northern Asia, and their close proximity there, that there would have been some interbreeding between the Mongols and the Albinos; which probably allowed the Albinos to gain some fixed degree of pigmentation. Proof of this admixture, is in the fact that Whites and Mongols (Chinese), both share the same founding Y-DNA haplogroup “K”. Which seems to have evolved during their migration to northern Asia, but while they were still in Southern Asia. Haplogroup “K” is not found in Africa – of course the founding haplogroup of “K” is found in Africa. Also, as we know from everyday life, the product of Black and White mating, often has a slight Yellow hue to the complexion.

The Khyber Pass

The Khyber Pass (altitude: 3,510 ft) is a mountain pass linking Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Pass was an integral part of the ancient Silk Road and throughout history, it has been an important trade route between Central Asia and South Asia. The summit of the Khyber Pass is 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) inside Pakistan at Landi Kotal and it cuts through the northeastern part of the Safed Koh mountains which themselves are a far southeastern extension of the Hindu Kush range..

Some facts emerge.

1.The Dravidian was the ancestors of the Caucasians.

When one reads of Human Immigration in Europe, one would find that , while talking of the history of any European Nation, it is stated that there was an influx of people first.

Then it is noted that it is from Asia.

They do not bother to check what was in Asia , who were living there and why they have moved out of Asia, for it is inconvenient to face the truth that they have come from Asia and Dravidian!

2.Considering the Archaeological finds relating to Vedic, Sanatana Dharma being found all over the world, I have posted with evidence extensively, the Flood theory being confirmed by History and Geology, the Astronomical dating of Hindu texts, and the etymology of the world languages and the affinity, if not their identity with Sanatana Dharma, it is clear that the Caucasians evolved from the Dravidian.

3.The evidence that the early Humans originated from Africa or Australia is not well supported by local customs, legends of these countries.

In the case of Africa traces of their History before the advent of Christianity, has been erased .

Evidence of Sanatana Dharma presence in Australia/New Zealand/Polynesia has been confirmed.

Please read my post Agastya in New Zealand , The Tribal dance of Shiva with the Third Eye in Aboriginal  Tribes of Australia.

4.Satyavrata Manu, ancestor of Rama, left the south of India with his sons to Ayodhya to found Ikshvaku dynasty.

Shiva , with his son Ganesha left for the Arctic through the middle east, Africa, Europe, Americas before returning to India through  (via Russia) the Khyber Pass.

This instance has been deliberately used b the West to misinform people that the Aryans invaded India.

Valmiki Wrote A Poem In Purananuru?

$

The interaction between Tamils and Sanatana Dharma is indisputable to those who know both.

I have written quite a few articles on this.

Valmiki .jjpg
Valmiki Maharishi

Now coming to Valmiki the composer of Ramayana, I had written that he was a Siddha.

Link provided before the close of the Post.

Now there some references that speak of Valmiki having written a Verse in Purananuru, belonging to the Sangam Era.

References to Kapila and Valmiki are found in these Tamil Classics.

I shall be writing on Kapila later.

It is a seven line poem found by Dr U.V.Swaminatha Iyer in the old palm leaf compilations of Puranauru. It bears the poet’s name as “Vaanmeekiyaar” or VaanmIkaiyaar” in different palm leaves. Both are the Tamilsed forms of Vaalmiki. As a mark of respect, a suffix “aar” is added to the name. Therefore Valmiki +aar = Valmikiyaar in Tamil. The verse is as follows:

பரிதி சூழ்ந்த விப்பயன்கேழு மாநிலம்
ஒரு பகல் எழுவர் எய்தியற்றே
வையமும் தவமும் தூக்கிற்றவக்துக்
கையவி யனைத்து மாற்றா தாகலிர்
கைவிட்டனரே காதலர் அதனால்
விட்டோரை விடாள் திருவே
விடாதோர் இவள் விடப்பட்டோரே ” Purananuru Verse 358.

In the Tamil grammar rules for poetry, this verse has been classified under the main heading “Householder’s dharma” (Gruhastha dharma) and the sub heading of a diametrically opposite theme of “Asceticism” (Sanyasa Dharma)! The meaning of this verse explains this strange combination. It is as follows:

“This World surrounded on all sides by the brilliance of Sun, accepts the offerings made to the Sun (god) and attains benefits with the efforts of Seven persons (horas) in the day. If we judiciously compare such benefits attained by this World  and the benefits of penance, the benefits got by the World would be trivial. Therefore, lovers (desirous of Eternal bliss or Moksham) would forego Worldly pleasures. Such people are never deserted by Sri (Lakshmi). But those who are after Worldly pleasures, would be deserted by Her”

It is of interst to note that there is a Temple in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai where the presiding Deity is Vanmikanathar, a form of Shiva.

Thiruvanmiyur.

Lord Marundeeswarar is known so because he imparted sage Agastya on curative properties of various herbs and plants.Since then the Marundeeswarar temple has been a place of worship for people with diseases and various problems with their health. It is said that even The Sage Valmiki, who wrote The Ramayana, came here to The Marundeeswarar temple to worship The Lord.Sage Valmiki was said to be blessed here. After this incident, this place was to be known as Thiruvalmikiyur, the name gradually changed to Thiruvanmiyur. There is a place present in Thiruvanmiyur called Valmiki Nagar in his honour. There is also a temple built for Sage Valmiki in the middle of the East Coast Road, very close to the Marundeeswarar temple. The lingam for which Lord Hanuman performed pooja, The lingam(meenakshi sundareswarar) that cured the curse of Lord Indra, the Lingam for which SaintBharadwaja performed pooja are present here. Markandeyar performed a penance and prayed to Lord Shiva here, Lord Brahma is believed to have conducted a festival here for lord Shiva.

Kannadigas From Yadava Tribe Agastya,Kapila.Tamil

The History of Sanatana Dharma is very deep and extensive. To have an idea of what it was one has to know Sanskrit, Hinduism and the Indian Regional languages.

I am handicapped in this respect in that I am conversant only in two languages,Sanskrit and Tamil, though I can speak Kannada.

Amriteswara temple, Karnataka.jpg Amriteswara temple, Karnataka.

If I know the other languages I might be able to get a better idea of the Sanatana Dharma for it was spread throughout the world and embedded deeply in all the regions of India.

Available records speak of Pali, Sanskrit and Tamil as the oldest.

Scholars from the other regional languages may send in their information on this,

One request is that this site is for Sanatana Dharam and not a ground for Linguistic war for that is the shortest cut to destroying Sanatana Dharama.

To me Sanskrit is my Father Tongue and Tamil Mother tongue.

This, I hope, might apply to all of us in various regions of India, the Mother Tongue being the one determined by region in which one is born or picks up from his mother.

Earliest historical evidence to Kanndigas is found in Brahmagiri , Karnataka.

Brahmagiri is an archaeological site located in the Chitradurga district of the state of Karnataka, India. Legend has it that this is the site where age Gautama Maharishi (also spelt Gauthama Maharshi) and his wife Ahalya lived. He was one among seven noted Hindu saints (Saptharshi mandalam). This site was first explored by Benjamin L. Rice in 1891, who discovered rock edicts of Emperor Ashoka here. These rock edicts indicated that the locality was termed as Isila and denoted the southernmost extent of the Mauryan empire.[1][2] The Brahmagiri site is a granite outcrop elevated about 180 m. above the surrounding plains and measures around 500 m east-west and 100 m north-south. It is well known for the large number of megalithic monuments that have been found here. The earliest settlement found here has been dated to at least the 2nd millennium BC

As this date is 2 BC I searched for earlier connections with Sanatana Dharama.

References are found in the Tamil Classics on this and in Legends.

Tamil Purananuru, says the people of Karnataka were from the Yadavas of  Dwaraka.

Now there are references in the Puranas of seven Dwarakas.

This reference about Kannadigas probably refers to the second Dwaraka, when the tribes left for the middle east and elsewhere because of Flood.

One group led by Agastya and Kapila, who compiled Purananuru settled in Karnataka, on the banks of Kaveri River.

Sangam Tamil poets composed over 2000 poems. Purananuru is an encyclopaedia of Tamil culture. It has got less than 400 verses. Purananuru verse 201 was composed by Kapilar two thousand years ago. This is a very important verse in Purananuru. It throws much light on early Indian History. Kapilar talks about 49th generation of Irungovel. Famous Tamil Commentator Nachinarkiniyar , who lived several hundred years ago, gave a very interesting story about this verse.

Nachinarkiniyar said that Agastya brought 12 tribes from Dwaraka ruled by Lord Krishna. Another city in the name of Dwaraka was founded in Karnataka (Mysore) state in the twelfth century. There is an interesting story about how and who founded this city. Hoychalas were the kings who ruled from this city. Hoychala is translated into Tamil asPulikadimal which is found in verse 201.

Chala was a king belonging to Yadu dynasty. While he was hunting in the Western Ghats, he saw a hare heroically fighting with a tiger. This made him to think that this place must have some special importance. When he followed the fighting tiger and hare, an ascetic who was doing penance ordered king Chala to kill the tiger. The ascetic’s order in Sanskrit was “Hatham Hoy Chala”. So from that day on wards the king and his descendants were called Hoychalas. If the verse 201 refers to this anecdote then it must have happened 2000 years ago.

This is reinforced by the Temples dedicated to Hindu Gods by the Hoysalas in Karnataka

More to follow on this.

Tamil Classic Purananuru Quotes Bhagavad Gita Verbatim

Tamil and the Sanatana Dharma are inseparable, despite misinformation to the contrary.

I have written a quite a few articles on the relationship between the two.

Not only were the Tamils a part of Sanatana Dharma, the Tamil Kings gave away lands for the Brahmins  on the condition that they perform Yagnyas as laid down  in The Vedas and the King Perunchotru Udiyan Neduncheralaathan would personally check the smoke from the Homa daily.

Bhagavd Gita Translation 4.8.jpg
Bhagavd Gita Translation 4.8

Tamil Kings also followed the Agamas and were the first to build Temples as per the Agama Shastra and these stand testimony to the reverence with which they held Sanatana Dharma.

Tamil Literature of Yore, including the Sangam Literature reflect the Sanatana Dharma thinking.

Many Sangam poets were Brahmins.

Tholkaapiyar, who wrote the Tamil Grammar, Kapilar,Nakkeerar and Kapilar are some of them.

And we have Agastya who is considered to be the Father of Tamil, next to Lord Shiva.

Tamil literature is awash with Sanatana Dharma views.

The oft quoted ‘Onre Kulam, Oruvane Devan’ by the Nastika Group to belittle Gods of Hinduism, is from Thirumoolar’s Thirumandiram

One family , One God.

This is nothing but,

Vasudeva Kudumbakam,

Ekam Sat, vipra Bahuta vadanti’

Now let me quote a Purananuru verse, belonging to Sangam Era, which states,

கபிலர் (புறம் 106); நல்லவும் தீயவும் அல்ல குவி இணர்ப்

புல் இலை எருக்கம் ஆயினும்,உடையவை

and will never refuse.

patraḿ puṣpaḿ phalaḿ toyaḿ

aśnāmi prayatātmanaḥ Bhagavad Gita 9.26

patram — a leaf; puṣpam — a flower; phalam — a fruit; toyam — water; yaḥ — whoever; me — unto Me; bhaktyā — with devotion; prayacchati — offers; tat — that;aham — I; bhakti-upahṛtam — offered in devotion; aśnāmi — accept; prayata-ātmanaḥ — from one in pure consciousness.

If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.

Now the famous Parithraanaaya Saadhunam in Puranaanuru.

Genetic Study Proves Dravidan Movement To North,The World

The study of genes is very interesting.

I have written a few articles on this subject.

Human Migration.Image.

Human Migration.

There have been attempts to manipulate data by assigning Caste to genes.

While we are advanced in Genetics, we are not advanced enough to assign a caste marker to Gene.

The information, rather the misinformation is provided by the Government of India.

They have taken distance as the factor to determine Caste!

That is if you are away from India, you do not have caste!

Apart from the fact we do not have the technology to assign caste to genes, people forget the Geology of 5000 ago.

India was not as it is.

The landmass encompassed a wider area.

Who set the boundaries for those areas?

Same logic applies to determine languages based on Genes.

Proof for this has o be found elsewhere, in archaeology, linguistics and cultural behavior.

Again, my researches indicate the presence of Indians as far away in Ireland, Russia and in some places Brahmin practices were found , according to Archaeological  finds and cultural practices.

Now to the study.

‘R1a is typical in populations of Eastern Europe,Indian Subcontinent and parts of Central Asia. It has a significant presence in Northern Europe,Central Europe, Iran, Altaians and Xinjiang(China) as well as in Siberia. R1a can be found in low frequencies in the Middle East, mostly inIndo-European speakers or their descendants…

The Modern studies for R1a1 (M17) suggest that it could have originated in South Asia. It could have found its way initially from Western India (Gujarat) through Pakistan and Kashmir, then viaCentral Asia and Russia, before finally coming to Europe”…”as part of an archaeologically dated Paleolithic movement from east to west 30,000 years ago

Points and inferences from this study.

1.That Human genes originated in south Asia.

This is supported by archaeology, astronomy ,linguistics and culture.

2.’It could have found its way initially from Western India (Gujarat) through Pakistan and Kashmir, then viaCentral Asia and Russia, before finally coming to Europe”…”as part of an archaeologically dated Paleolithic movement from east to west 30,000 years ago’

Here the point is that the early Genes were linked to South India, to be specific near Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

The implication is that there has been a movement from the south necessitated by a Tsunami, which has been recorded in History and validated.

This has been found in Tamil Classics and world legends of Floods.

Note the time frame in another study.

‘The dates we report have significant implications for Indian history in the sense that they document a period of demographic and cultural change in which mixture between highly differentiated populations became pervasive before it eventually became uncommon. The period of around 1,900–4,200 years BP was a time of profound change in India, characterized by the deurbanization of the Indus civilization, increasing population density in the central and downstream portions of the Gangetic system, shifts in burial practices, and the likely first appearance of Indo-European languages and Vedic religion in the subcontinent. The shift from widespread mixture to strict endogamy that we document is mirrored in ancient Indian texts. [notes removed -Razib]’

Taking these facts into account, it is sane to theorize that the earliest genes were from the south of India and there was a shift to the north around 4000/5000 BC.

This is the time when the Tsunami struck in the south and people emigrated from the south.

Towards which direction is the question.

They could have moved towards the north of India, east and west.

Hindu Texts state that Satyavrata Manu, ancestor of Lord Rama moved towards north with his sons to found the Iksvaku Dynasty.

Please read my Post .

They could not have moved to wards the south as they were deep down the south as the land mass ended here as described in the Tamil Classics of the First Sangam and in Sanskrit texts.

Another direction they could have moved towards  is the west

This is worth considering because of these facts.

a)There has been worship of Shiva and Murugan in deep south then but not much is known about Vishnu though mention is made of Mayon(Vishnu),in the earliest available Tamil text Tholkaapiyam.

b)Tamil Kings attended the Swayamvara of sita of Ramayana and even Nala and Dmayanti not not to forget the Swayamvara of Draupadi.

c)Tamil Kings participated in the Mahabharata battle.

d)Lord krishna and Arjuna visited Tamil Nadu then the Dravida Desa, married there and had children through Tamil princesses .

e)Balarama worshiped Lord Subrahmanya, called Murugan in Tamil, in South India.

f) Kapila who compiled the Purananuru, a Sangam Classic states that he was from Dwaraka.

g) Parashurama came from south and though he is considered an avatar of Vishnu he worshiped Shiva and received Pasupathasrara.

h)Arjuna received Pasupathastra  in the south.

Now Satyavrata Manu moved to North.

Who had been left behind and who and where had Shiva, Ganesha and Murugan gone?

My research indicates  that Shiva and Ganesha left through the middle east ,traveling through Europe, Africa, what is now called Americas, to Arctic and returned to India  through the Khyber pass. leaving behind a trail of Sanatana Dharma .

Nothing else could account for the artifacts , language affinity and cultural heritage found throughout the area.

Their home-coming through the Khyber has been interpreted or misinterpreted as Aryan Invasion.

Thus the genes prove that the early humans were from the south , moved northwards and westwards.

They could have moved towards he east as well.

This is certain because of the spread of Santana Dharma in the far east, extending up to New  Zealand and Australia.

Please check mu Pots on all these.

One of the advantages of not  being a scholar is that I am not bound by one study.

I can study various studies, research  papers and collate with Indian sources and arrive at a Theory.

If west can rely only on western sources, why not rely on western and Indian sources?

Excerpt ,Sources from different studies

The first group spread across the upper and middle reaches of the map, the Austro-Asiatics (the tribals or Adivasis) were clustered in the centre and east, the Dravidians covered the south as far up as Andhra Pradesh and the Tibeto-Burmans were confined to small border areas to the north.

“Now look at these. This stuff was very unexpected.” He pointed at the coloured circles on the map. “You will see that Indians are more similar than you would think across the country. There are membership exchanges within these four groups. It’s all mixing up, even with the Dravidians.”

Now I understood the circles: they showed genetic groups where you would least expect to find them. In Kashmir, there were people who were genetically similar to Dravidians. In Gujarat and eastern Orissa the same was true, though the markers were weaker. In parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka in the south of the country, the situation was reversed: here were Indo-Europeans. In Madhya Pradesh in central India, you could find groups whose ancestors had come from the Himalayas. So people who thought they were a product of a place where their family had lived for in infinite generations were genetically closer to Indians who lived a thousand miles away, and spoke a different language.

When I pointed to a spot on the map and asked Dr Mukhopadhyay exactly where it was, he hesitated. “We don’t say the place names. We agreed, because of the political risks, not to release the ID of the blood-sampled groups — Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs. This is uncomfortable territory.” He touched two red circles near Pakistan. “They probably would not eat in one another’s home. How deep are our genetic relationships, and yet how different are our social relationships. The cultural structures we are following are new: it takes time for practices like not marrying into another community to come out genetically. It takes a few thousand years.”

Tens of thousands of years?

“No, thousands of years.”

So with all this mixing and complexity, could you test for caste?

“There is no scientific basis to say you could have a caste gene. For a start, in our research we use samples of fifty or a hundred people, not individuals. If you test a population group in India and look at twelve genetic markers — DNA sequence variations — you have nearly a 100 per cent chance of knowing if they are tribals or not, and an 85 per cent chance of establishing their language group. The data would not tell you the caste, because there is no basis.( http://www.hindustantimes.com/books/a-brahmin–in-your-genes/article1-650873.aspx )

This would tell you the Russian, Arctic connection of Hindus.

‘I want to highlight one aspect which is not in the abstract: the closest population to the “Ancestral North Indians”, those who contributed the West Eurasian component to modern Indian ancestry, seem to be Georgians and other Caucasians. Since Reconstructing Indian Population History many have suspected this. I want to highlight in particular two genome bloggers, Dienekes and Zack Ajmal, who’ve prefigured that particular result. But wait, there’s more! The figure which I posted at the top illustrates that it looks like Indo-European speakers were subject to two waves of admixture, while Dravidian speakers were subject to one!

This blog receives notice among the netizens and is often quoted in Texts, both in English and Tamil as well.

This is also rated as the 15th authentic site on Hinduism by a site and 30th in the world by another.

It is my duty to disclose my sources to lend more authenticity  and credibility ,though I provide relevant sources and links in the Posts.

There is another reason.

Ramana Maharishi On Consciousnes.quote,jpg. Ramana Maharishi On Consciousnes..

The colonial mindset implanted in us is so great that people even when they look at facts of Indian Origin and Indian Texts, refuse to look into them.

Brush aside as non sense.

Worse still is that some make funny remarks.

One of the readers in a Facebook community commented  for the Post Shankaracharya Intellectual Giant, where I listed the  His works as follows,

‘So, He could have invented sanitary Napkins!’

I did not respond to this comment.

The point is that we have to let it be known our treasures with authority, which was eroded by the British as they have done for the whole world, including their own Irish.

I will take personal insults.

But I can not take any disrespect to Adi Shankaracharya.

The information I am sharing here in the blog is not my invention nor I am a Gnani or a self-styled Guru.

I am more like a curious child who is awestruk.

I refer sources, cross check them and publish.

Did Rishis Compose The Vedas

$
0
0

The Vedas are called Apaurusheya, not made by Man.

Vedas are the breath of God/Reality Brahman.

Hindu Scriptures List.jpg Hindu Scriptures List. Image credit.http://www.crystalinks.com/vedas.html

They are the Uswaasa and Viswaasa ,Inhalation and Exhalation.

Yet we find references that rishis have composed the Vedas, Sukthas of the Vedas.

And we have , for every mantra, Devatha, Adi Devatha, and  Rishis.

And many women were also involved in the process.

Vedas are grasped from Ether by the Realized Souls.

For those who want to criticise this concept, let me remind them where their emails and files are if they have been saved in G Drive.

Those attuned to the frequency of the Mantras receive them intuitively.

To attain that level one needs practice and application.

It is Apps for reaching Reality.

These Mantras were grasped by more than one at the same time or at different time frames.

For every Manvantara the Saptha Rishis change.

They are in charge of grasping these Mantras, to be later compiled by some body else.

For Our Manvantara, the Vedas were compiled by Krishna Dwaipaayana Vyaasa.

It is the same Vyasa who wrote the Mahabharata and The Seventeen Puranas.

His Father Parashara wrote the First Purana, The Vishnu Purana.

There is also a view that this Vyasa could be differnt as the adjective Krishna Dwaipaayana is provided.

Krishna means ‘Dark/Black.

Dwaipaayana is his name, meaning Island born.

He was born on Island in Yamuna river near Kalpi, Uttar Pradesh, India.

There is also a view that he was born in the Tanahun district in western Nepal.

It is also stated that he was an extension of the Krishna  Avatar of Vishnu, in the Dwapara Yuga.

( I am of the view that he was born in Yamuna Island . I shall be posting on this issue later)

Vyasa means compiler ,one who composes Prose.

So Krishna Dwaipaayana is a Vyasa.

I take the view that he is an extension of the  Krishna Avatar of Vishnu.

Now to Vedas and Rishis.

Each Veda Mantra has a Rishi, who grasped the Mantra, Chandas, (the meter in which it is to be recited) and Adhi Devata,he Presiding Deity of the Mantra.

When one chants a Veda Mantra, one has to recite all the three.

For Gayathri, the Rishi is Savtiraya Rishi Viswamitra,Chandas is Nisruth Gayatri and the Presding Deity is Savitha.

( The adjective Savitraya Rishi to Viswamitra raises a question whether this is the same Viswamitra who antagonized Vasishta and  with Lord Rama.i am researching into this.Scholars may contribute)

Maha Mantras have the same rules,

Vishnu Sahasranama has Rishi Agasthya, Chandas Anushtup and Presiding Deity Maha Vishnu.

For Sri Rudram , Rishi Agoora Chandas Anustup and the Presiding Deity is Sri Rudra.

For Lalitha Sahasranama Rishi is Vagdevata, Chandas is Anushtup and the Presiding Deity is Lalita Parameswari.

Please read my posts on Saptha Rishis, Rishi’s list, Chandas.

Sahasra Chandi Homa is being performed in July 2015 at toronto,Canada.

This is beiing organised by the Devotees/descendants of Bhaskararaya, who wrote the Bhashya of Lalita Sahasranama.

I have posted articles on Bhaskararaya and his contribution to Shaktha System.

Excerpt provided towards the close of the Post.

Lalita Sahasranaama contains both Nirguna Upasana and Saguna.

Broadly the Stotra has Nirguna and Saguna Upasana.

It describes the Devi with Attributes in Saguna Saradhana Section, also details the Nirguna aspect.

In Saguna ,The Devi is worshiped as The Mother, as who else can take care of the Child but the Mother!

Sahasra Chandi Mahayagna.jpg

Sahasra Chandi Mahayagna.

Sahasra Chandi Homa Programme.Image.jpg

Sahasra Chandi Homa Programme.

Details of the Function/Homa.

‘Under the auspices of Bhaskara Prakasha Ashram, Sahasra Chandi Maha Yagna will be conducted during Ashada Navaratri in July 2015 in Toronto, Canada to commemorate the 113th Birth Anniversary of our Guru Sri Vimarshananda Nathendra Saraswathi Swamigal. This is the fifth Sahasra Chandi Yagna conducted by members of the Ashram with the grace of the Goddess and our Guru – twice in New Delhi, India and twice at the Ashram in Chennai. The 2015 Sahasra Chandi Maha Yagna is being organized by the Toronto Leadership team of Bhaskara Prakasha Ashram. ..

Nirguna follows the pattern of the Upanishads,’the neti Nyaya’ , that is not his, not this.

Nirguna, Nirahankaara….the list goes on.

And as a mode of worship of Shiva and Shakti it has Eykyaanusanthaanam, where the union of the individual and Universal Soul and of Shiva and Shakti are explained.

Lalita Sahasranaama also deals with the description of the Devi, Her Evolution, though not really She Evolves for “She Always Is’ the details of Her Dwelling place, Sri Pura and Sri Chakra,

The Stotra is Yantra Shastra because it deals with the Sri Yantra,

It deals with Tantra Shastra, when it deals with all the Tantra.

Akulaa Samayaanthastha Samayaachhara Thatpara’

It accommodates all the sects of Devi worship,Kulachaara,Samayaachaara,Vaamaachara, you name it , the Lalita Sahasranaama has it.

Lord Shiva divulged is and other stotras and it was later passed on to the others.

It is also on record  that Sri Lalita Devi had ordered Her Yoginins to compose this.

The Stotra also has Yoga embedded in it .”

Bhaskara Raya.

The reason for this post is about the The Giant who had written Bhashya, Explanation oh Lalita Sahasranaama, Sri Bhaskararaya.

He was born in 1690 in Bhaga, Maharashtra, India, is Mother Konamba and father Gambiraraya, a Scholar.

Gambirraya was conferred the Title ‘Bharathi by the Vijayanagar Empire.

He was of Viswamitra Gotra,

Gambiraraya administered the Saraswati Mantram and had Bhaskararaya trained under Sri Narasimha Advari in Benares,Varanasi.

Bhaskararaya was highly respected by the learned and won accolades from Kings and Scholars.

He was married to Anandhi and Parvati.

He  settled in Benares and wrote over 40 books on Vedanta, Mimamsa,Vyakaran,Nyaya, Smriti,Mantra Shastra.

All the works are research papers!

Why No Foreign Culture History Religion Remains in India

The remains of Sanatana Dharma, Hinduism,Culture,Architecture,Languages, practices are found through out the world.

The references found in the Pali,Sanskrit texts have been found to be true,Vedas, Puranas, Ramayana, Mahabharata,Raghuvamsa,Silappadikaram,Manimekalai,Puranaanuru,Pathiruppathu, and many Tamil Sangam Works.

Be it.

The Narada Mountain of Nardonya,Archaim of Russia,

Maya, Aztec remains in Mexico,Central America,

Natural Vishnu Temple in Grand Canyon,

Nazca Lines of Peru,

Agastya in New Zealand,

Shiva’s Third Eye dance in Australia,

The places mentioned in the Ramayana, Ravana Palace, Sita’s prison,Pushpaka Vimana runway,in Sri Lanka.

Reference to Dhanu in Danube delta,

The legend of Hindus among the Celts,

Nataraja as the Protector of Buddhism in China,…..

List is endless.

Please read my posts with authentic Links filed under Hinduism.

The sources are from reputed archeologists, astronomers, linguists, anthropologists.

And the artifacts have been validated by , in many cases , by Carbon dating.

Now if Hinduism, Sanatana Dharma is a Myth and foreign history is correct, and that those civilizations, including the Sumerian, Minoan, Aztecs, Mayas, Incas, were advanced civilizations, then their cultural, historical, and religious remains should have been found in India, just as Hinduism remains are found throughout the world.

But none whatsoever!

Whatever has been found, relates to events that happened later tha what our Texts say.

And the reference back to this information comes back to India !

When Megastanes writes about India, the reference found in his works are found to refer to Greek connection with India before Megasthanes.

Read my posts on Megasthanes.

But we have the gift of ridiculing our Texts and trust the western sources.

We will question Ramayana/Mahabharata though its date is proven, but will believe The Iliad and Odyssey of Homer !( though Homer, Iliad and Odyssey are proven, the facts contained are not)

But Rama is found in Sumerian Kings List and Krishna is found in Greece!

We will belive the Bible where it is not proven , Jesus whose existence is not proved  as scientifically as Rama and Krishna.

We do not even know Jesus’s name!

Such is the hold of colonial mindset we accept our own culture having been invaded by our own people(Aryan Invasion)

The answer to the Post title is,

Bharat History is ancient, proven, others follwed suit and they had no lasting  influence on Sanatana Dharma as it had on them save the latest British type institutions,, Education and worse the slave mindset.
